Originally, I was drawn to documentary filmmaking, hungry to confront the unfiltered realities of the universal topics that most people avoid, such as death, love, and sexuality. I dove into these conversations, seeking the wisdom hidden in each story of those I interviewed.
I soon realized that beneath the surface, everyone wrestles with the same core wounds. Hardship acts as a compass, steering us toward healing, and through that healing, we let go of feeling like a victim and discover that our pain has been quietly guiding us home to ourselves. Life is a process of peeling away the expectations placed upon us until our truest selves finally step into the light. Only then do we find true peace and fulfillment.
Now, as I pursue my MFA in Film and Television at SCAD, I have uncovered a new passion for screenwriting and am eager to direct my first self-written narrative film.
